Executive Officer - CDPF Limited, Any Australian City

CDPF Limited is responsible for overseeing the compliance of the Australian Catholic Church’s 24 Catholic Development Funds.  Catholic Development Funds enable the Catholic church to fund projects including church buildings, parish facilities, church halls and meeting places, new schools, school buildings and playgrounds, hospitals, retirement villages and nursing homes. They also generate valuable income to support the many and varied charitable activities which support people in need across the community. 

CDPF Limited is seeking an Executive Officer who will work closely with the Board of CDPF Limited to support the ongoing compliance of Catholic Development Funds to ensure that they continue to fulfil regulatory conditions for their exemptions and continue to meet their obligations to depositors.

The Executive Officer will also play an essential role in developing and maintaining strong internal and external stakeholder relationships, including CDF Managers and staff and Diocesan Financial Administrators and external regulatory authorities (ASIC, APRA, AUSTRAC and ACNC).   An understanding of Gospel values and the principles of Catholic Social Teaching, and a willingness to work within the mission and identity of the Catholic Church, will be important aspects of the role.

Key responsibilities:

  • Manage the compliance plan monitoring system for the Development Funds
  • Maintain and enhance the risk management framework
  • Support the Board through the provision of risk analysis and commentary
  • Provide guidance to Development Fund staff on compliance issues and coordinating compliance training on key compliance issues and regulatory requirements
  • Manage all compliance registers
  • Prepare papers for Board reporting

You will have:

  • A sound knowledge of ASIC, APRA and AFSL compliance obligations as they relate to the operations of financial institutions
  • Financial services experience within Investment Management, Superannuation, Wealth or Banking sectors
  • A proven track record in developing, managing and enhancing risk & compliance frameworks
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to operate at both tactical and strategic levels
  • Stakeholder management skills, including the ability to build strong working relationships
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence
  • Comfortable working in a small team without close supervision
  • 5 years plus risk and/or compliance experience
  • A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline
